Life in Bedford

I must suspect that Mayor Jim Griffin may have been spending time in Colorado sniffing weeds.

To declare that so many people are pretty pleased with life in Bedford is pretty misleading. (See: “Residents pretty pleased with life in Bedford, survey shows.”)

Just 545 residents (of the 49,000-plus living here) responded to this survey by students at the University of North Texas.

I find it amazing that the mayor would actually hold forth with these results when he couldn’t even fill the library meeting room with all the respondents.

I’m not sure how many tens of thousands this survey cost us here in utopia, but I’m sure we could have found a better way of reaching a larger group to question.

What’s the problem, council? Afraid to hear from too many voters?
