EDITOR’S NOTE: This story has been modified from original version to change the scheduled opening dates.

People who want to check out zip lining or floating in a wave pool at the Hawaiian Falls water/adventure park in White Settlement will have to wait until next week for the park to open.

Hawaiian Falls officials said the grand opening — scheduled for the Memorial Day weekend — was delayed because cold weather and rain slowed down construction work. The park is scheduled to open to city leaders and season pass holders on June 5 and to the general public on June 6.

“After losing more than 30 days to inclement weather … and especially this last rain at a critical time when we were ready to pour the final concrete … our opening date will unfortunately be delayed,” Hawaiian Falls spokesman David Alvey said in a news release.

The park, at Clifford Street and North Las Vegas Trail, two miles north of Interstate 30, will open at 11:30 a.m. Thursday to city leaders and 2-7 p.m. for season-pass holders. The park opens to the general public at 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Hawaiian Falls Water Park features numerous slide complexes with more than a half mile of slides, a 1,000-foot lazy river, zero depth entry children’s activity areas, a football field-size wave pool and lots of shade and seating.

The adventure park features a 50-foot-high, three-level ropes course with 45 activities; a 62-foot-high, 400-foot-long zip line; a two-level family adventure trail with nine bridges and seven five-level towers; a 30-foot climbing wall; a 30-foot cargo net climb and the 60-foot-high Free Fall.

The $13 million entertainment complex features a 20,000-square-foot indoor family arcade, private party rooms and a restaurant. The Aloha Conference Center will seat 400 for dining and 1,000 for meetings.
