No sympathy for carrier

This is a reply a May 23 letter by Mr. Hargis, a former letter carrier.

Hargis admitted he once threw a rock at a dog’s head, but he did not mean to hurt it.

Isn’t that like, “I picked up my gun and shot at it, but I did not mean to hurt it?”

I don’t feel any sympathy for the unnamed letter carrier under investigation in connection with the May 17 death of a dog in Fort Worth. He should be sent to jail and fired from the Postal Service.

If he is scared of dogs, then he should have found another job.

I hope the major animal advocate societies get in on this, especially People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

My sympathy goes out to the dog’s owners, who heard the carrier say: “I did what I had to do.”

This mail carrier should suffer, too.
