A burglary suspect driving a red Mercedes led Denton County deputies on a brief chase Tuesday evening, fleeing the county. She was later tracked down at a Grayson County Whataburger, authorities said Wednesday.

Deputies were dispatched to a burglary call in the 10000 block of Osburn Road in northeast Denton County shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday.

As they arrived, they saw a woman driving away in a red Mercedes. Deputies and local police chased the suspect until the car left the county.

Minutes later, Grayson County deputies located the Mercedes in a ditch in their county, and a witness reported seeing a woman leave the car, Sandi Brackeen, a spokeswoman for the Denton County Sheriff’s Office, said in a news release Wednesday.

The woman was later located at the Whataburger in the 1100 block of Texas 82, and taken back to Denton County for questioning late Tuesday.

No other information about the suspect was released on Wednesday.

The investigation continued Wednesday.
