In honor of Father’s Day, we’re bringing back our popular “Draw your dad” reader contest.

Whether you’re a budding Picasso or a seasoned artist, we want you to create a piece of original artwork of your dad. You can use pencil, pen, paint or whatever drawing tool you would like to illustrate him. (It must be a drawing or painting. No sculptures or photos.)

Our panel of judges will select winners, runners-up and honorable mentions in various age categories. Winners will receive a prize and will be interviewed and photographed for a story to run in the Life & Arts section and on star-telegram.com on Father’s Day, June 15.

What to do: Along with your original artwork, you will need to send a photograph of your dad and write (in 100 words or fewer) how he has inspired you. Please include your age, address, phone number and e-mail address. Artwork and Dad photos from non-winners will not be returned but may be used in a photo gallery online. One entry per person, please. (Note: Your father may be living or deceased.)

How to enter: Mail your original artwork, a photo of your dad and your letter to: Father’s Day Art Contest, Features Department, Star-Telegram, 808 Throckmorton St., Fort Worth, TX 76102. You may also drop off entries at the front desk of the Star-Telegram office on Throckmorton.

Deadline: Entries must be received (not postmarked) by 5 p.m. Friday, May 30.

Who can enter: You must live in or around Tarrant County. The contest is not open to Star-Telegram employees and their families.

Questions: cortega@star-telegram.com.
