A man accused of accosting a jogger at gunpoint last week near the Trinity River west of downtown was arrested Friday night, police said Monday.

Griffin Littlejohn, 19, was in the Mansfield Jail on Monday evening with bail set at $75,000. He faces a charge of aggravated kidnapping, the jail log said.

Police provided no information about his arrest.

A 28-year-old woman was jogging shortly before noon May 4 in the 1400 block of West Fifth Street. She told officers that she was approached by a man, armed with a black handgun, who tried “to physically force her to go with him,” police said in a news release.

The woman’s screams got the attention of a couple walking nearby. The attacker moved away and was last seen walking west on West Fifth, police said.

Police searched but “were unable to locate the suspect,” according to a news release.

No similar incidents have been reported in the area.

The woman described her attacker as black, 25 to 28, about 6 feet tall and 150 to 160 pounds. He had very dark, thick eyebrows, hair about 1 1/2 inches long in an Afro hairstyle and a dark complexion. He wore a dark purple shirt with a yellow and white graphic on the front, a white undershirt, dark jeans that appeared to be very wrinkled and black tennis shoes.
