Grapevine, Colleyville Heritage athletes compete at state

The Grapevine and Colleyville Heritage track and field teams were represented by an athlete each at this year's state track and field meet.

Zoe McKinley competed in the pole vault competition and Colleyville's Megan Harris qualified in the 200-meter dash.

McKinley finished fifth overall in the pole vault competition with a jump of 13 feet.

McKinley won a district championship this season with a jump of 12 and finished second at region with a jump of 12-06.00.

McKinley's highest jump of the year was at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, where she jumped 12-9.5 to finish fifth overall.

The Grapevine junior won a district championship last season as well and finished third at region.

For Harris, the Colleyville Heritage sprinter finished ninth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.33 at the state competition.

The Colleyville Heritage junior finished second at the regional meet with a time of 24.71.
