Another terrific Mansfield Reads! Evening With the Author took place May 2 at the Mansfield Public Library. Taylor Stevens shared some of her life experiences which led her into writing and becoming a successful author. “The Informationist,” a thriller and Ms. Stevens’ debut novel, was this year’s selection. She is currently working on her fifth book featuring Vanessa Michael Munroe, with the fourth one due out in July. Thanks to Joy Tipping, local journalist, for bringing your charm and interview skills to the evening. Thanks also to the chefs and students at Ben Barber and Savvy’s Bistro for the outstanding culinary treats.

I also would like to say thank you to everyone who came out to support this award-winning program, as well as the following people: Suzonne Evans, Trich Zaitoon, Sharon Zambrzycki and Sabra Young for sharing their African items, which are on display at the library. Thanks also to Mayor David Cook for presenting a key to the city to Ms. Stevens.

Many thanks are also due to our First Edition sponsor, the Mansfield News-Mirror, who has supported us from the beginning 11 years ago. We also appreciate our Masterpiece sponsors, Mouser Electronics and Starkey Mortgage as well as Barnes & Noble, JMH Printing, and all of our Classic sponsors, all of whom enable us to bring great books and authors to our library. We couldn’t do it without you!

Finally, thanks to the library staff and Friends volunteers, as well as the librarians, teachers and students of Mansfield High School, and to the City of Mansfield, for helping to make this program a reality.

Carol Ann Grantham, President

Friends of the Mansfield Public Library
