UT Arlington defeated Texas Wesleyan 11-3 in a nonconference matchup at Clay Gould Ballpark on Tuesday night, earning coach Darin Thomas his 200th career win.

Thomas is the second coach in UTA history to record at least 200 wins. Butch McBroom had 757 victories at UTA from 1974-1999.

The Mavericks (21-24, 11-10 Sun Belt) used a five-run third inning to break open a close game. Ryan Bottger led UTA with three RBIs, and four other Mavericks drove in a run.

Arlington Martin grad Drew Dowdy had the first RBI of his career.

Starting pitcher Brad Vachon (3-5) picked up the win for UTA after allowing one run in four innings. Jacob Moreland worked four innings in relief.

The Rams (26-25) hurt themselves with six walks and three hit bats-men. They finished with eight hits.

UTA hosts Arlington Baptist at 2 p.m. Wednesday in a nonconference game.
