Spurs at Mavericks

8:30 p.m. Monday, American Airlines Center, Dallas

TV: KTXA/Ch. 21, TNT

Radio: ESPN/103.3 FM, KFLC/1270 AM (Spanish)

Series: Mavericks lead 2-1

About the Spurs: The past 48 hours probably have been rough for the Spurs. Vince Carter’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer gave the Mavericks a 2-1 lead in the series. ... “I think overall, they’ve had more guys play well and more guys show that desire than we have,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. ... This is a must-win game for the Spurs, who can ill-afford to fall behind 3-1. ... The Spurs had to be inspired by the play of Kawhi Leonard, who finished Game 3 with 17 points, five rebounds, five steals and three assists. ... Tony Parker was solid in the first half Saturday with 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting and six assists. But in the second half he only contributed two points on 1 of 5 shots and no assists. ... With Ginobili scoring 12 points, the Spurs’ bench players outscored the Mavs reserves 33-24 in Game 3.

About the Mavs: Thanks to an electrifying 3-pointer at the buzzer by Vince Carter on Saturday, the Mavs have a 2-1 lead. But coach Rick Carlisle cautioned that “we can’t have any kind of letdown or hangover because we hit a big shot and got a big win.” ... If the Mavs win their two remaining home games, they’ll win this series in six games. ... Dirk Nowitzki has gone three straight playoff games without scoring at least 20 points. The last time that happened was in 2001 when Nowitzki failed to score at least 20 points in the final game of the first-round series against Utah, and in the first three games of the second-round series against the Spurs. ... The Mavs will be looking to get more offensive efficiency from Monta Ellis, who scored 12 of his playoff career-high 29 points in the fourth quarter of Game 3. ... Samuel Dalembert had 13 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks in Saturday’s game.
