UT Arlington scored one run in fifth, sixth and seventh innings, before Eric Tate, supplied a two-run double in the eighth and the Mavericks held on Tuesday for a 6-5 victory over Oklahoma.

UTA (18-23) led 6-1, but Oklahoma (25-17) rallied for two runs in the bottom of the eighth and two in the ninth to cut the Mavericks’ lead to 6-5.

Colin Tornberg got Hunter Haley to pop out with runners on second and third to end the game. It was UTA’s third victory over a Big 12 team this season.
