Go on a scavenger hunt, float in the wave pool at Hawaiian Falls, roll through Katherine Rose Park, watch a movie under the stars or test your tonsils with karaoke -- free.

Mansfield’s A Night on the Town returns this weekend with a three-event series, but will spread out to three different parks instead of all being held at Town Park.

“We thought we would change it up,” said Angie Henley, the city’s special events supervisor. “I’ve seen pictures of years past and how popular it was. We thought switching it up might spark a fire. I want to see a lot more people, the more the better.”

Henley might need to speak to Mother Nature. Last fall, three of the city’s four planned Night on the Town events were rained out. The one that did weather the weather drew approximately 200 people, she said.

The spring series kicks off on familiar ground with a scavenger hunt, karaoke and a park clean-up from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Town Park, 500 N. Main St. Participants don’t need to bring anything, and everyone is welcome, Henley said.

On May 17, the party moves to Hawaiian Falls water park for Flick & Float from 2-5 p.m. Attendees can chill out in the wave pool and watch “Teen Beach Movie.” Vendor booths and concessions will be open. Admission is free for the day to the water park, which is opening early just for this event.

“It’s not often you get into Hawaiian Falls for free and you’re getting a first shot to do it,” Henley said.

The Night on the Town series wraps up May 24 at Katherine Rose Park, 303 N. Walnut Creek Drive, with a family bike ride, crafts and screening of “Frozen” from 7-9 p.m. Participants will need to bring their own bikes to participant in the ride.
