After hanging tough with the No. 2 team in the country all weekend, UT Arlington finally broke through with a 5-4 Easter win over Louisiana Lafayette.The Mavericks try to ride that momentum into Tuesday’s nonconference game against Oklahoma, with the first pitch at 6 p.m. at L. Dale Mitchell Park in Norman, Okla.The Ragin’ Cajuns rallied to break eighth-inning ties for victories Friday and Saturday. Then on Sunday, the Mavericks pulled one out of the hat with a four-run ninth inning to hand ULL (36-5) its first road loss of the season. “It would have been easy to lay down after Friday and Saturday, but I thought we showed toughness in bouncing back on Sunday,” coach Darin Thomas said.The Mavericks took the Sooners into extra innings earlier this season at Globe Life Park, but a late home run won the game for Oklahoma. The Sooners are scuffling lately, having lost six of their last eight games.Jess Amedee gets the start for UTA looking to bounce back from a rough outing on Saturday.
