A 10-year-old boy was shot in the hip early Sunday during a dispute between his parents at their Forest Hill home, police said Sunday.The boy was driven to the Forest Hill police station by his mother, where he was treated by paramedics before he was taken to an area hospital. His injury was not life-threatening, Forest Hill police said.A man at the home was taken into custody and faces a charge of aggravated assault/deadly weapon/family violence, said Forest Hill police Capt. Jerry Cozby on Sunday.Forest Hill police did not release information as to whether the man was the father or stepfather of the child.Forest Hill patrol officers were dispatched to the 4700 block of Richard Street shortly after 1 a.m. on a report of a domestic disturbance.“It looks like it went from bad to really bad,” Cozby said Sunday.Officers located a man in the residence, but while in the home they received a call from a dispatcher, telling them that a boy had been shot there. The mother had gone to the police station with her wounded son, police said.There were other children in the home, but no other injuries were reported.The man whom police did not identify remained in the Forest Hill Jail on Sunday. He will be arraigned Monday.
