Here is the latest on the Rangers’ on the disabled list:

• 3B Adrian Beltre (strained left quad): Going through full baseball activities but is not running at full speed yet. He’s expected to return when he’s eligible to next Friday in Seattle and likely won’t require a rehab assignment.

“That’s the reward of being a [17-year] veteran,” manager Ron Washington said of Beltre avoiding a rehab stint.

• LHP Matt Harrison (back surgery rehab): Scheduled to throw six innings and 95 pitches in another medical rehabilitation start at Double A Frisco on Saturday.

• LHP Derek Holland (left knee surgery): Rehabbing in Arizona and is in the beginning stages of pitchers’ fielding practice such as covering first base at a 50 percent effort level.

“The arm is ahead of the knee,” general manager Jon Daniels said. “We’ve got to get the legs in shape.”

• LHP Joe Saunders (bruised left ankle): He continues to progress and will fly to Arizona on Sunday for more rehab work at the Rangers’ spring training facility. Saunders hopes he’ll be able to pitch in game action down there and return sooner than later.

“It’s definitely frustrating because it’s my first non arm injury in my life,” Saunders said. “You’ve got to be patient for it to heal and play it by ear.”

• RHP Daniel Bard (thoracic outlet syndrome): He’s throwing bullpen sessions in Arizona, but is not ready for a rehab assignment yet.

Briefly

• Jim Adduci made his first start Friday night, batting sixth and playing right field. Washington said he simply needed to get Adduci in the starting lineup.

• Michael Choice is expected to start Saturday with White Sox lefty Jose Quintana on the mound. Choice has been in the lineup against every left-handed starter and Washington said: “As we go forward, you’ll see him against some righties, too.”

• Leonys Martin and Elvis Andrus are the only positions players in MLB with multiple sac bunt games. Martin laid down two sacrifice bunts on Thursday, and Andrus on April 1.
