Change is not always wise.

Imagine if an airline passenger starts waving his arms wildly, shouting, “Let me fly!”

But what are his qualifications or experience?

These same questions apply to the election contest between State Board of Education member Pat Hardy and political newcomer Eric Mahroum.

Teaching is an art and a science. Those who direct the education of our children should know something about the learning process.

A seasoned educator, Pat taught for 30 years in Castleberry High School and serves as social studies coordinator for Weatherford ISD.

Her educational awards are too numerous to list.

Pat is a tireless advocate for our children, and under her chairmanship of the Permanent School Fund it has increased 16 percent.

The clear choice in this runoff is Pat Hardy.
