Preschoolers age 2-5 can make a craft and enjoy a tasty treat from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Mansfield Activities Center, 106 S. Wisteria St. Cost is $5 per child or $4 with a MAC card. The Mansfield school board will meet at 7 p.m. in the Mansfield ISD Center for Performing Arts, 1110 W. Debbie Lane. The meeting is open to the public.

Boots & Bistro

The Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Association will host the third annual Boots & Bistro to benefit Mansfield Fire Rescue from 5-9 p.m. at Aristide Event Center, 570 N. Walnut Creek Drive. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Ages 8 and younger are free. Ticket includes food samplings from a variety of restaurants and vendors, plus live entertainment. Vision screening

Ben Barber Career Tech Academy will host a free vision health fair and screening from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 1120 W. Debbie Lane. Vision screenings and referrals will be provided for adults, glasses will be provided for qualified children. There will also be food, demonstrations and displays.

Karaoke Clean-up

Night on the Town will include Karaoke Clean-up from 6-9 p.m. at Town Park, 500 N. Main St. Residents are invited to sing karaoke, clean the park and play games. They can also get a picture with H2Owen and the KMB Sea Pickle Viking ship. Supplies are provided for the litter pick-up. Volunteers can pre-register by visiting www.mansfield-tx.gov and download the form or they can register at each event.

City Council meeting

The Mansfield City Council will meet at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 1200 E. Broad St. Meetings are open to the public. The meetings are also broadcast on Charter Communications channel 27. For more information, call (817) 276-4200.

Evening with the author

The Friends of the Mansfield Library will host Mansfield Reads’ Evening with the Author, starting at 6 p.m. at the library, 104 S. Wisteria St. Tayor Stevens, author of “The Informationist,” will be the featured speaker. Comments, question and answer session, book signing, appetizers and desserts are planned.
