Mansfield defeats Duncanville, remains atop district standings

The Mansfield baseball team defeated Duncanville by a score of 8-3 on Friday night to improve to 9-1 in 7-5A district competition and remain atop the district standings.

Kyle Laberge picked up the victory for the Tigers in the game, and Tyler Greer doubled.

Reid Petty led the team offensively with a double and triple in the game, and the defense did not have a single error against the Panthers.

Mansfield played Grand Prairie on Tuesday after the press deadline and will host Cedar Hill at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Timberview moves into sole possession of first place with SGP victory

The Timberview softball team moved into sole possession of first place on Friday night with a 9-6 victory over South Grand Prairie.

Mayriah Brown earned the victory for the Lady Wolves, and Mayan Meza-Tovar doubled in the game for Timberview.

Maddie Munoz and Gabby Littles both homered in the game for the Lady Wolves.

Timberview wrapped up the regular season on Tuesday night with Cedar Hill.

Lake Ridge hammers Lancaster, moves closer to .500

The Lake Ridge softball team defeated Lancaster by a score of 19-0 on Friday night to improve its district record to 6-7 on the season.

JaiAnna Ivy earned the victory in the game for Lake Ridge, throwing a no-hitter along the way, and Samantha Householder doubled in the game for the Lady Eagles.

Taylor McCoy led the team offensively in the game, doubling and hitting a home run for Lake Ridge.

Lake Ridge and Red Oak are fighting it out for the fourth and final playoff spot, and both teams were 6-7 heading into their finals games on Tuesday night.

Lake Ridge wrapped up the season on Tuesday night with Waxahachie.

Legacy defeats Ennis, still unbeaten in district

The Legacy baseball team improved to 10-0 in district competition on Friday night with an 11-1 victory over Ennis to remain undefeated in district competition.

Blake Wilson earned the victory, surrendering just four hits in the game to Ennis, and Chad Watkins doubled in the game for the Broncos.

Corey Murray hit two doubles in the game for Legacy to lead the way offensively.

Legacy played Seguin on Tuesday night after the press deadline, and will square off with Summit at Legacy High School at 7 p.m. on April 17.
