About the Suns: This is the second leg of a back-to-back for the Suns, who lost 112-104 Friday night in San Antonio. ... The Suns are still in the playoff mix, tied with Memphis for the eighth and final spot. ... Phoenix has won nine of its past 12 games. That includes winning 109-93 in Portland on April 4. The Suns also won a pivotal home game against Oklahoma City last Sunday 122-115. ... Phoenix built its team on getting up and down the floor quickly, whether it’s on an opponent’s made or missed shot. .. The Suns are sixth in the NBA in scoring (105.5 points per game) and 22nd in points allowed (102.6). ... The Suns have a bevy of one-on-one players who can get their shots off the dribble. That’s why they’re next-to-last in the league in assists at 19.2 per game.

About the Mavs: This is the final regular-season home game for the Mavs, who finish the regular season Wednesday in Memphis. ... If the Mavs win Saturday night, they’ll win the season series (2-1) over the Suns and return to the playoffs for the 13th time in 14 seasons after missing last year. ... The two previous Suns-Mavs game this season were played in Phoenix. The Suns won 123-108 on Dec. 21, and the Mavs prevailed 110-107 on Jan. 17. ... The Mavs have won six consecutive road games but are 4-5 in their past nine home games, including Thursday’s 109-100 loss to San Antonio. Monta Ellis led the Mavs with 24 points against the Spurs with 24 points, half coming in the fourth quarter. ... Vince Carter is just seven points from passing Adrian Dantley (23,177 points) as the NBA’s 25th all-time scorer.
