Texas quarterback David Ash sustained a fracture in his left foot during spring practice, and will undergo surgery next week.

Ash is expected to return to action in time for UT’s preseason camp.

Ferrell invited

TCU pitcher Riley Ferrell has been invited to play with the 2014 USA Collegiate National Team. He becomes the first TCU player to twice earn a spot on the team.

Ferrell has an 0.98 ERA and has 29 strikeouts in 18 1/3 innings this season. Opponents are hitting .131 against him.

Big 12 baseball

C.J. Hinojosa hit a leadoff homer in the 10th and two walks and two singles brought in another run, leading Texas (27-8, 7-3 Big 12) to a 10-8 victory over Oklahoma (23-12, 4-3). ... Jon Perrin gave up five hits in 6 1/3 innings, helping Oklahoma State (24-10, 6-4) to a 6-0 victory over West Virginia (16-23, 2-4). ... Three Kansas State errors helped Texas Tech (26-11, 6-7) score three runs in the fourth inning to take a 4-3 victory over the Wildcats (20-14, 2-5).

Briefly

• Missouri football: Wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, once heralded as the No. 1 recruit in the nation, has been kicked off the team. The move was announced Friday, a day after police in Columbia, Mo., said no charges would be filed in a suspected burglary involving the player because of reluctant witnesses fearing retaliation.

• TCU women’s tennis: TCU blanked visiting Kansas State 7-0 in a Big 12 match. The Horned Frogs evened their season record at 11-11 and their league mark at 4-4.

• Tennessee basketball: Jarnell Stokes is bypassing his senior season to enter the NBA Draft. Stokes, a 6-foot-8, 260-pound forward, averaged 15.1 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.
