The UT Arlington baseball team embarks on its longest road trip of the season this week, beginning with Tuesday’s 3 p.m. game at Houston Baptist.

Coming off another weekend series win, the Mavericks (14-18, 6-6 Sun Belt) have won six of their last eight games and are gaining momentum. Powered by two of the Sun Belt’s top hitters, Matt Shortall and Derek Miller, the Mavericks have scored five or more runs in 13 consecutive games.

The Huskies (14-14, 5-7 Southland) also have been a streaky team this year, having lost four in a row after winning five of six. Outfielder Jordan McCoy (.343 average) is their main threat. The Huskies hit .293 as a team, the same as UTA.

After this game, the Mavericks play a three-game set at Georgia State in Atlanta before facing Texas in Austin next Tuesday. Louisiana Lafayette, ranked No. 1 in the Collegiate Baseball poll, visits the Mavericks in 10 days.
