Aaron Harrison did it again.

The freshman guard from surburban Houston hit a 3-pointer with 5.7 seconds left Saturday to give Kentucky a 75-74 victory. It was a repeat performance from the regional final when he hit a 3-pointer from the left wing with 2.3 seconds left for a 75-72 win over Michigan.

Harrison finished with eight points, hitting only 3 of 8 field goals.

“I didn’t play that well today, but I hit a big shot,” Harrison said immediately after the game.

The Wildcats were only 1 for 4 from 3-point range before Harrison hit his game-winning shot. Kentucky’s first made 3-pointer was its first basket of the game on a shot by James Young.

Wisconsin went 8 for 20 from 3-point range.

Second-half rally

The Wildcats didn’t lead much in the first half. Their last lead came with 16:37 remaining in the half. But they rallied in the second half.

After Wisconsin opened the second half with a 3-pointer, giving the Badgers a 43-36 lead, Kentucky went on a 15-0 run.

The lead changed hands four times after that, the last being Aaron Harrison’s game-winner.

Kaminsky shut down

Wisconsin junior center Frank Kaminsky averaged 18.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in four NCAA Tournament games heading into the Final Four. But the Wildcats held him to eight points on 4-for-7 shooting.

Kaminsky also had five rebounds and two blocks as Kentucky managed to keep him from taking over.

Chances good

The Wildcats have eight national championships, the last coming in 2012.
