Stars at Hurricanes

6 p.m. Thursday, PNC Arena, Raleigh, N.C.

TV: FSSW   Radio: KTCK/1310 AM and 96.7 FM

Records: Stars 37-27-11, 85 points; Hurricanes 33-32-11, 77 pts.

About the Stars: This is the third of five consecutive road games in a nine-day span for Dallas, which has won three in a row and is tied with Phoenix for the final playoff opening in the Western Conference. ... Goalie Kari Lehtonen has won five of his past six starts, allowing just 10 total goals in that stretch. He had 35 saves in a 5-0 win at Washington on Tuesday. ... Forward Ryan Garbutt has four goals in as many games.

About the Hurricanes: They are still in the playoff hunt, but just barely. They would have to jump five teams to get the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference. Carolina could win its remaining six games and still miss the postseason. ... Rookie forward Elias Lindholm scored goals 5:33 apart in Tuesday’s 4-1 road win over playoff-bound Pittsburgh. ... Goalie Anton Khudobin has also had a sturdy first-year performance. He made 30 saves against the Penguins in winning his 17th game this season.
