A burglary suspect was injured Tuesday afternoon in wreck that occurred while he and companions were being chased by police in north Euless.

Police were still looking for two men who climbed free of the wreckage and got into another vehicle, said Lt. Eric Starnes, a Euless police spokesman.

The incident began at 1:52 p.m. when an officer was dispatched to a burglary in progress at an apartment complex in the 700 block of Mid Cities Boulevard in Euless, Starnes said.

“The suspects fled in a vehicle when they observed police,” Starnes said. “There was a short pursuit just prior to the vehicle rolling down an embankment, as the suspects missed the on-ramp to [Texas] 360.”

The injured man was flown by helicopter ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Starnes said.

The other men “fled on foot and reportedly got into another vehicle,” Starnes said. “We are continuing to investigate.”
