Regarding airport noise

The letter on this topic in last week's Grapevine Courier reminded me of a visitor to Windsor Castle. After the tour someone asked her what she thought of the Castle. "It's wonderful," she said, "but why did they build it so close to Heathrow?"

Support for Chris Putnam

We are writing in support of Chris Putnam, who is running for Colleyville City Council Place 3. We have been neighbors of Chris and Amy Putnam, and their three boys for six years. Chris is a true leader in our neighborhood and the larger community, having fought for the right for our children to attend GCISD schools even though we are districted in Keller ISD. Through these efforts, our kids are now able to attend schools in our own town, and we saw a noticeable increase in the property values in our neighborhood. He is a fighter who not only asks hard questions, but also brings well thought-out, logical solutions to any problem he identifies. Chris will bring these leadership skills and action-oriented behaviors to Colleyville government.

The Putnam’s are also quick to open their home to both friends and strangers. Their home is often the gathering place for many family and community events here in Colleyville. Chris enjoys bringing people together both to have fun, as well as to discuss and solve community issues. They are real people, and Chris has the best interests of Colleyville and its residents at heart. He is not running to network for personal or business gain, but to help us deal with our growth issues while preserving our small-town charm and character. He has already proven he can get things done that benefit Colleyville families, and we are excited to support his campaign.

Supporting Stan Hall

I would like to declare my support of Stan Hall for the position of Colleyville City Councilmen. Stan has had six years of experience as a Colleyville City Councilmen. He is a graduate of Kansas State University with Master’s Degree in Chemistry and a Masters in Business Administration. Stan has served his Nation in the U.S. Army and 25 years as a reservist retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Stan is also a retired Executive of a Fortune 100 company.

I have worked personally with Stan over the past 15 years and I can speak to his leadership skills and collaborative manner. His even handed, fair, methodical approach to problem solving is a rare gift which he deploys with respect and consideration for those with whom he is involved

Stan has an excellent understanding of the City of Colleyville and the challenges that beset the city. He is trustworthy and honest and dedicated to investing the time required for this office. I am confident that Stan is the only deserving candidate for the office of Colleyville City Councilmen, Place 3.
