Ah, the good ol’ days of 2011. Try to remember them.

Barack Obama was president of the United States. Gas prices hovered above $3 per gallon. The Dallas Cowboys were a disappointment. Ron Washington was manager of the Texas Rangers, and Jon Daniels was the general manager.

Not everything has changed 2 1/2 years after the Rangers were vanquished by St. Louis in Game 7 of the World Series. At the same time, though, the Rangers have undergone a significant face-lift.

Start at the top, where CEO Nolan Ryan has bowed out. Jackie Moore and Dave Anderson are no longer on Washington’s coaching staff. A look at the roster reveals that 17 of the 25 players in the World Series are with a new team.

Not included on that list are two notable players who were left off the World Series roster: first baseman Chris Davis, who hit 53 homers last year for Baltimore, and right-hander Koji Uehara, who is now a world champion with Boston.

Someone queue David Bowie. Here’s a look at the ch-ch-ch-changes since the end of the 2011 Fall Classic.
