I wish to take issue with the statement, “Even if the premium were $50, the deductible would be astronomical” (“Hardships of healthcare law, March 22).

It is actually only her assumption, and an incorrect one. I recently helped an acquaintance sign up for the ACA and she received a Blue Cross/Blue Shield policy that costs $50/month with no deductible, and annual out-of-pocket cost capped at $500.

This is easily verified by entering test profiles at Healthcare.gov.

I’d suggest those interested in the facts regarding the available ACA coverages simply enter an annual household income in the range of $12,000 to $20,000 to produce a list of insurance policy offerings available to our neediest Americans.
