The White Settlement Brewer boys soccer team was able to keep up with Trophy Club Nelsons frenetic pace for the first 15 minutes of Tuesday nights first-round playoff game at Brewer Bears Stadium. But sometimes one can only do so much against one of the best teams in the state.Nelsons offense got going and cruised to a 4-0 win over Brewer (7-7-3) in the bi-district round. The Bobcats (20-1-3) will play Friday night against Gainesville at Argyle High School. Gainesville received a first-round bye.After exchanging fast-break possessions early in the game, Tanner Burns was able to find an opening inside the penalty area for a score to put Nelson up 1-0.The play of the night came 10 minutes later when Matheo Segovia kicked a long pass from the far side of the field to the center, just in front of the Brewer goal. Waiting there was Chase Therrien, who knocked in a header for Nelsons second goal.Brewers best chances at a goal came late in the first half. Nick Davilla had a shot near the goal, but the ball dribbled to the right of the net. Shortly after that, Bryam Castillo made a run toward the penalty area but got tripped up before he could set himself up for a shot.Brewer goalie Hayden Tucker kept things close, making several impressive saves throughout the game. Tucker stopped two shots on goal in the first half and fended off several Nelson attempts near the goal with 32:40 left in the game. The Bobcats would come back with an easy goal from Zach Ullman less than a minute later, though.Burns added his second goal of the night with a short pitch-in with 23:57 left in the game.
