A capital murder warrant has been issued for the boyfriend of a Bedford woman found fatally stabbed in her apartment on Sunday, police said Monday.

Authorities are searching for Robert Atlas, 26, who had been living with Tracy Anderson, 26, at an apartment in the 2500 block of Central Park Boulevard.

Detectives believe Atlas may be driving a silver 2011 Dodge Charger with temporary license tag 12M6970.

“We have not received any tips about his whereabouts,” Bedford police Lt. David Smith said Monday evening.

Atlas has family in Illinois and Tennessee, Smith said.

On her Facebook page on Oct. 3, Anderson wrote: “Robert Atlas and I are super excited and expecting our first baby.” Anderson said her due date was May 16.

Officers were dispatched about 1:40 p.m. Sunday to the Colonial Village at Shoal Creek apartments on Central Park Boulevard after Anderson’s mother told police she had not heard from her daughter since Friday.

“It appeared someone had forced their way inside of the apartment,” Smith said. “Officers found the apartment unlocked, went inside and found her dead in the apartment.”

Detectives said she had been stabbed multiple times. Smith declined to comment on whether a weapon was found in the apartment.

Investigators learned that Anderson and Atlas had moved into the apartment three weeks ago.

Initially, detectives said that they were concerned about Atlas’ safety, but after further investigation, the warrant was obtained.

The complex was the scene of the last slaying in Bedford.

The bodies of Roxann Dianna Sanchez, 30, and her son, Anthony Reyes Figueroa, 8, were found inside her apartment on May 1. Officers went to the apartment after receiving 911 calls, including one from Sanchez’s other son, 12-year-old Marcus Figueroa, who had also been stabbed. Marcus Figueroa survived.

Cedric Allen Ricks, Sanchez’s estranged boyfriend, was arrested in Oklahoma. Tarrant County prosecutors will seek the death penalty against Ricks, who was offered a plea bargain for life in prison without parole but rejected it, according to a court document filed with the Tarrant County district clerk’s office. His trial is set to begin May 5.
