Power of PACs

Citizens United is one of the most egregious decisions ever made by our Supreme Court. It allows an already powerful entity to further destroy the ability of ordinary citizens to be heard.

The disparity of wealth keeps growing and with it, so does the dominating access to influence the outcome of elections all across the country.

When PACS and special interest groups outnumber and overpower those vehicles available to the citizenry at large, the law of the jungle prevails.

However, today’s example of “survival of the fittest” is wealth-driven and actually rewards those with the most “fiscal dominance”!

When powerful billionaires can buy the outcomes of once-free elections with only a small fraction of their considerable wealth, it is most definitely the death knell of majority rule.

We must drive these spoils of corporate personhood and paid for politics from the fabric of our democracy before they destroy the America we all had a part in nourishing, building and protecting.
