About the Celtics: Nothing has gone right for the Celtics this season. Especially from Dec. 18-Jan. 29 when the Celtics lost 19 of 22 games. Boston has endured losing streaks this season covering five, six and nine games. ... The Celtics are in a rebuilding mode, with point guard Rajon Rondo the only holdover from the club that won the 2008 NBA title. Injuries have limited Rondo to 20 games this season. ... There are two former Mavericks on the Celtics, Brandon Bass and Kris Humphries. ... The Celtics are 27th in the NBA in scoring with 95.2 points per game.

About the Mavericks: Dallas begins its longest homestand in franchise history Monday night with a string of eight consecutive games at home. It won’t end until April 1 when the Mavs host the Golden State Warriors. The previous longest homestand was Dec. 2-15, 2008, and they played seven straight at home, going 5-2. ... Monday night’s game also is the second end of the 15th of 16 back-to-backs of the season for the Mavs. They are 8-6 on the back end of back-to-backs. The final back-to-back of the season for the Mavs is April 3-4 in Los Angeles when they play the Clippers and Lakers, respectively. ... The Mavs won their season-high fifth game in a row on Feb. 9 when they beat the Celtics in Boston 102-91 behind 20 points from Dirk Nowitzki.
