Texas State completed a comeback with a walk-off homer in the 11th inning against UT Arlington to win 7-5 on Saturday in Sun Belt Conference play.

The Mavericks (5-13, 0-2 SBC) lost their third consecutive game.

“It was a very tough loss today,” UTA coach Darin Thomas said. “It was one we should have had.”

UTA led 5-2 going into the bottom of the seventh before Texas State began its rally.

The Bobcats (12-7, 2-0) scored two in the inning and, after a throwing error by Darien McLemore, tied the game in the ninth with a sacrifice fly with one out.

Granger Studdard stepped to the plate to follow a two-out hit by David Paiz in the 11th.

Studdard sent the first pitch by Jacob Moreland over the right-field wall.

UTA’s Greg McCall had two RBIs.
