SURPRISE, Ariz. Third baseman Adrian Beltre doesn’t expect to miss much time after leaving Thursday night’s game with tightness in his left quadriceps muscle.

He started and batted twice for the Texas Rangers in their 4-4 tie against San Francisco, but headed to the clubhouse for treatment after the fourth inning. He was scheduled for an off day Friday and isn’t sure if he will travel to Phoenix on Saturday afternoon, but he isn’t overly concerned.

“I’m not,” he said. “It’s tight. I went through the workout earlier, and before the game I sprinted and it felt tighter, tighter and tighter.”

Beltre said that he felt fine in the field, moving laterally, but experienced tightness when running forward.

“I tried not to force it,” he said.
