For the second consecutive year, the Tarleton State Texans men’s basketball team will need to progress through Denver for the NCAA Division II South Central Regional.

The No. 3-ranked Texans (27-2) begin play against first-round opponent Texas A&M International, the Heartland Conference champions, at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Tarleton was defeated by Metro State, this year’s regional host, in the first round last year.

The Texans swept the Lone Star Conference Tournament to claim their second consecutive championship. Chuck Guy from Fort Worth Eastern Hills High School was named the LSC player of the year, while Reisman earned coach of the year honors for the second time in three years.

The winner will face the winner of the Midwestern State and Arkansas-Fort Smith game at 5 p.m. Sunday.
