The Rangers trimmed their spring roster to 53 after moving seven players, including top prospects Rougned Odor and Luis Sardinas, to minor-league camp.

Right-handers Ben Rowen and Wilmer Font were optioned to Triple A Round Rock; Sardinas, a shortstop, and righty Lisalverto Bonilla went to Double A Round Rock; and second baseman Odor, Adcock and righty Armando Rodriguez were reassigned to minor-league camp.

Odor, the Rangers’ top prospect according to Baseball America and Baseball Prospectus, and Sardinas, rated in the top 10, finished 2013 at Frisco. They walked across the hallway to the minor-league clubhouse having left an impression on Washington and with a deeper knowledge of what it takes to be a major-leaguer.

"It was a lot of fun," Sardinas said of his first big-league camp. "I learned a lot. I learned more about the game, and I worked every day. That’s most important."

Said Washington: “I have no issues with the way they went about the business. As a matter of fact, the thrill was all mine to be able to work with them on the consistant basis that I did. They certainly have made my 2014 spring training enjoyable just to be around them.”
