Fort Worth-Arlington home prices rose 8.6 percent in January from a year ago, according to the latest CoreLogic Home Price Index.

Home prices nationwide increased 12 percent in January, CoreLogic said. The index has shown 23 consecutive months of year-over-year increases.

Texas, Louisiana and Nebraska set record home price peaks in January, the report said.

“Polar vortices and a string of snowstorms did not manage to weaken house price appreciation in January,” said Mark Fleming, CoreLogic’s chief economist. “The last time January month-over-month and year-over-year price appreciation was this strong was at the height of the housing bubble in 2006.”

CoreLogic CEO Anand Nallathambi said home prices should continue to increase, particularly in the spring selling season.

“Excluding distressed sales, all 50 states and the District of Columbia showed year-over-year home price appreciation for January,” Nallathambi said.

Bella Plaza at Montserrat pad sites sell

Two more pad sites totaling about 2 acres have been sold at Bella Plaza Montserrat in southwest Fort Worth.

The land was sold to Dow Capital in Fort Worth, said Will Martin, principal of W. Martin & Co., who represented the property owner, the Siratt family of Fort Worth.

Inga Dow of Dow Capital plans a Keller Williams real estate brokerage and title company office, he said.

The shopping plaza is at Team Ranch Road and West Loop 820. The Salons of Volterra and an oil and gas company have locations in the 100,000-square-foot plaza. Eight lots remain for sale, Martin said.

Eagle Mountain Lake residential lots bought

Our Country Homes has bought 53 home sites in The Resort on Eagle Mountain Lake, including canal and lake lots.

Homes will range in price from $290,000 to $1 million, depending on the lot and the size of the home. Some lots have been sold, the company said.

“We chose this development because we are looking for land opportunities in communities that offer our buyers a unique lifestyle, and this community has a combination of amenities like none other,” said Dustin Austin, president of Our Country Homes.

The Resort offers an 18-hole golf course, fitness facility, pool with cabana, playgrounds and canal lots with boat docks. Our Country Homes has been building in the Metroplex for 40 years.
