The Dallas Stars traded defenseman Stephane Robidas, the organization’s active player with the most games played, to the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday in exchange for a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft.

Later, the Stars fell 4-2 in a visit to the Columbus Blue Jackets after a third-period rally fell short. Artem Anisimov scored twice for Columbus, including a late insurance goal.

Defensemen Alex Goligoski and Trevor Daley had goals early in the third period for the Stars, who entered the final frame trailing 3-0. With the loss, Dallas still sits in eighth place in the Western Conference.

Robidas appeared in 24 games this season before suffering a broken leg on Nov. 29 versus Chicago. He said he was hoping for a March return to the ice from his injury.

He will become an unrestricted free agent over the summer.

The pick becomes a third-round selection if Anaheim makes it to the Western Conference finals with Robidas playing in 50 percent of the playoff games.

The trade gives Dallas nine picks in the 2014 draft.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
