TCU head coach Gary Patterson is promoting from within to fill the coaching void at the cornerback position.Former Arlington Bowie head coach and TCU director of high school relations and recruiting Kenny Perry will become the cornerbacks coach for the Horned Frogs, according to a source. Perry is replacing Clay Jennings, who left TCU in February to take a job at Arkansas coaching defensive backs. Perry took his first role with the Frogs football staff in March 2013, working as a liaison between recruits and high school football coaches.He played football for the University of Houston from 1988-91 were he played cornerback his freshman and sophomore years and safety his junior and senior years. Perry has 22 years of coaching experience as the head coach of Bowie, Haltom and Arlington Sam Houston. His secondaries at Bowie were some of the best weve played against and some of the best I saw whenever I watched them play 7-on-7 or play in the regular season, Cedar Hill coach Joey McGuire said. He has a good background in that.Arlington Martin head coach Bob Wager said Perrys greatest strength is maximizing the abilities of his players.
