The UT Arlington women’s basketball team hopes to tack on a couple of wins before the end of the season. It starts Wednesday night at College Park Center against Georgia State. The Mavericks (3-22, 2-12 Sun Belt) beat the Panthers 67-51 in Atlanta on Feb. 1 for their second win of the season. Senior center Desherra Nwanguma finished with 13 points and 15 rebounds in that victory, which snapped Georgia State’s five-game winning streak at the time. While the Mavs look to play spoiler, Georgia State (12-14, 8-6) can wrap up a Sun Belt tournament berth by beating UTA. The Panthers have been carried by their backcourt this year. Stat-filler Kendra Long and point guard Alisha Andrews have been aided recently by the strong play of center Brittany Logan to remain in the middle of the Sun Belt standings.
