Effective senator?

Given that Ted Cruz considers himself an outsider and alienates his own caucus, how will he ever be able to pass legislation that benefits the people of Texas? Who will be his ally when he needs a heavyweight to help sponsor a bill?

Legislation does not get passed in a vacuum. Besides renaming a courthouse, how many bills has Cruz actually sponsored and passed? It seems as if his “my way or the highway” approach to governing will ultimately lose funding for Texas and render him useless and obsolete to the people who elected him.
