The Weatherford College Fine Arts Department presents The Adventures of Tom Sawyer Thursday - Saturday. Show times are 7:30 each evening. Doors open at 7 p.m. at the Alkek Fine Arts Center.

Performances are free to the public, but attendees are encouraged to bring a donation of food for the Center of Hope or pet food for the Weatherford/Parker County Animal Shelter.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer was written by Laura Eason and adapted from the novel by Mark Twain.

Join Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn and Becky Thatcher in the greatest summer adventure ever told in this imaginative, highly theatrical adaptation of Mark Twain’s incomparable classic. Featuring the thrill of mischief-making, the fickleness of first love, the cold shivers that linger after an adventure gone very wrong and the unbridled joy of discovering real buried treasure, this story is for anyone who has ever been a kid and celebrates all that is grand and glorious about childhood.

The WC cast includes Kylar Dobbs as Tom Sawyer, Delace McMahan as Becky Thatcher, Seth O’Bannon as Huckleberry Finn and others, Joshua Davis as Injun Joe and others, Stephen Sullivan as Joe Harper and others, Arik Yates as Sid Sawyer and others, Salone Sasser as Aunt Polly and others and Cole Lucas as Muff Potter and others. Kelsie Bruce is the stage manager.

The cast and crew of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer will attend the Texas College Theatre festival held at Blinn College in Brenham – Feb. 25, 26, 27, 28 and March 1 – where 15 colleges will perform.

“This is a once in a life time event for all of us to experience the productions from colleges across Texas,” Director Nancy McVean said. “Texas is truly the ‘State of the Arts.’”
