Mansfield girls soccer team picks up impressive victory

The Mansfield girls soccer team earned another win in district on Friday, defeating Grand Prairie by a score of 7-0 at the Gopher-Warrior Bowl in Grand Prairie.

Hannah Webb led the Lady Tigers in scoring with two goals in the game.

Landry Bender, Brianna Dyess, Sidney LeRoy, Morgan Sheppard and Madison Wilson each scored a goal in the game for Mansfield.

The Lady Tigers played Cedar Hill on Tuesday after the press deadline and will square off with DeSoto at 6 p.m. on Friday at Vernon Newsom Stadium.

Lake Ridge boys hammer Seguin

The Lake Ridge boys soccer team cruised to a 3-0 victory against Arlington Seguin on Friday night at R.L. Anderson Stadium in Mansfield.

The Eagles improved to 11-1 on the season with the victory and 5-0 in District 15-4A competition.

Lake Ridge played Crowley on Tuesday after the press deadline and will take on Burleson Centennial at 6 p.m. on Friday at Centennial High School.

MSA welcomes Steve Long

The Mansfield Soccer Association will welcome Steve Long to host a Brazilian Style Soccer Camp on June 17-21.

Long played on the US Olympic team in 1979 and 1980, completed a 32-nation European tour and has also competed for Chicago Sting (NASL), the Memphis Americans (MISL), the Las Vegas Americans (MISL), and the Jackson Rockers (MISL indoor).

Long holds a USSF “B” National Coaching License and has coached all over the world.

Legacy softball team takes care of Odessa

The Legacy softball team had a strong all-around effort against Odessa on Saturday winning 6-0 in the Mansfield ISD Tournament.

Kendall Potts was the winning pitcher in the game for Legacy, and Potts and Reagan Wright each doubled in the game for the Lady Broncos.

Legacy played Plano East on Tuesday night after the press deadline and will compete in the Mesquite Tournament starting Thursday at 2 p.m. against Arlington Bowie.
