Patterson is proven

As a Texas voter over these many decades, I rarely see a politician who actually gets done the things he has promised the electorate. Fortunately, we do have one candidate in the current race for lieutenant governor who has such a record. Jerry Patterson fought for Second Amendment rights for decades and was finally able to author and pass Texas’ right-to-carry law.

In just the past year, as head of the Texas Land Commission overseeing the Alamo, Patterson fought to successfully return the famous “Victory or Death” letter by William Barret Travis to the Alamo for the first time since it left there 177 years earlier. Patterson strengthened the Permanent School Fund by $22 billion (landmark earnings) and increased veterans benefits without taxpayer subsidy.

I cannot wait to see the things he will get accomplished as lieutenant governor of Texas, such as permanently shutting down the border — not just talking about it — something that could and should have been done years ago.

— Richard Range,
