About the Mavericks: This is the final game of a three-game road trip. After Wednesday’s game, the Mavs will break for the All-Star Game. … Dirk Nowitzki is the lone Mavericks representative in the All-Star festivities. … Coming out of the break, the Mavs’ first game is Tuesday at home against the two-time defending NBA champion Miami Heat. … The Mavericks have dropped four of their last five meetings against the Pacers. … Dallas lost its two games to the Pacers last season, and it wasn’t even close. Indiana won at home over the Mavericks 103-83, and then won in Dallas 103-78. … The Mavericks have lost 14 of their past 20 games against Indiana. … The Mavericks could be in sixth place in the West at the All-Star break.

About the Pacers: Indiana has the NBA’s best record, best home record (25-2) and has won five of its past six games. … David West scored 25 points Monday to lead Indiana over Denver 119-80. … The Pacers have done their damage mainly with defense. They average only 99 points per game, but are first in the league in fewest points allowed at 90.5. … Indiana also is first in the NBA in point differential at a plus-8.5. … The Pacers shine the brightest behind their two All-Stars — Paul George and Roy Hibbert. George is averaging 22.4 points and 6.4 rebounds, while Hibbert averages 11.9 points and 7.7 rebounds, and also is third in the league in blocks at 2.49 per game. … Lance Stephenson leads the NBA with four triple-doubles. — Dwain Price
