Donielle Breaux hit a 3-pointer with 5.3 seconds remaining to lift the TCU women’s basketball team to a 61-60 road victory against No. 23 Iowa State at Hilton Coliseum.

Chelsea Prince led TCU (13-9, 4-6 Big 12) with 17 points, and Zahna Medley added 16. Latricia Lovings had eight points and 14 rebounds. Breaux and Natalie Ventress both scored nine points.

Iowa State’s Brynn Williams led all scorers with 18 points, getting nine of those in the first half on three 3-pointers. The Cyclones’ largest lead before halftime was six points. Iowa State led 28-23 at halftime, scoring half of its points off turnovers.

TCU caught Iowa State (16-6, 5-6) in the second half and pulled ahead 40-36 with about 14 minutes to play. The teams traded at least 15 more lead changes. The Frogs led by one with 1:08 remaining, and Iowa State’s Seanna Johnson sank a 3-pointer to give the Cyclones a 58-56 lead.

Johnson added two free throws with 17.7 seconds remaining for a 60-58 Cylones lead. TCU wasn’t finished.

With 15.9 seconds left, TCU moved the ball around until Breaux settled in at the top of the key and sank the game-winning shot. Prince then tied up Iowa State’s Nikki Moody after her downcourt drive, and TCU had the possession arrow with 0.3 seconds to play.
