The Fort Worth Opera has begun taking submissions of new works for the 2015 Opera Festival Frontiers showcase.

Frontiers, approaching its third year, seeks to discover and encourage development of 21st-century operatic compositions. A panel of 17 opera industry professionals, chaired by Fort Worth Opera General Director Darren Woods, will choose six to eight submissions for the 2015 showcase.

The program is open to composers of the Americas. Composers and librettists chosen for Frontiers in 2015 will be in residence during that year’s Fort Worth Opera Festival, the company says. Tickets for the public to attend will be announced closer to the event.

Interested candidates should contact Frontiers curator Kurt Howard at Deadline is May 31.
