FORT WORTH — An “altercation” occurred before a TCU senior was found dead early Tuesday at a campus apartment building, Fort Worth police said.Stewart Trese, 23, a senior marketing major from Fort Worth, was identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner. He was pronounced dead at 9:22 a.m. in a hallway of the GrandMarc at Westberry Place apartments, 2855 W. Bowie St.Officers found the student dead “with apparent trauma to the body,” said Sgt. Kelly Peel, a police spokesman.The case is being investigated as a homicide, Peel said in an emailed statement Tuesday night.Detectives “were able to determine that an altercation had occurred between acquaintances,” Peel said. “All parties involved have been identified and located.”No one had been arrested late Tuesday, Peel said.“There is no danger or threat of further violence related to this incident on the TCU campus,” he said.TCU owns the land where the apartment building is located, but GrandMarc “manages the property” and “TCU leases some rooms from GrandMarc,” a university spokeswoman said.Officials urged students with information about the case to call Fort Worth police at 817-392-4300.
