The UT Arlington men’s team has to shake off the stench of a heartbreaking losses and get back on track, but it will have to come against the best team in the Sun Belt Conference. After blowing a 12-point second-half lead in a 77-72 loss to Western Kentucky on Thursday, the Mavericks (9-11, 4-4 Sun Belt) play at league-leading Georgia State (14-6, 7-0) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the GSU Sports Arena in Atlanta. The Mavericks led nearly the entire game on the road Thursday, but the Hilltoppers snapped UTA’s three-game winning streak by roaring back as Anthony Walker and Reger Dowell fouled out.To keep pace with the rest of the Sun Belt pack, the Mavericks must turn things around against a Georgia State team that’s popped off 11 consecutive wins and hasn’t lost since Dec. 7. The Panthers simply don’t turn the ball over and have the fifth-best turnover margin in college basketball.
