The UT Arlington women’s basketball team continues its road swing Saturday in Atlanta for a game against Georgia State.

In the opener of a two-game trip, the Mavericks (1-18, 0-8 Sun Belt Conference) lost to Western Kentucky 59-46 on Wednesday.

Senior forward Briana Walker led UTA with 17 points and 10 rebounds. WKU guards Micah Jones and Bianca McGee combined to hit six 3-pointers.

Georgia State (10-10, 6-2) hosts the Mavs at the GSU Sports Arena riding the momentum of five straight Sun Belt wins after Thursday’s 63-55 win over South Alabama.

The Panthers are tied with Western Kentucky for second place in the conference standings.

The Mavs will need to find production on offense from someone other than Desherra Nwanguma and Walker in order win away from home. The two accounted for 28 of the Mavericks’ 46 points Wednesday in the team’s second-lowest offensive output of the season.

UTA scored a season-low 35 points against No. 11 Oklahoma State on Nov. 10.
