Dozens of pieces from the estates of sculptor Charles Umlauf and painter Cynthia Brants are on exhibit at William Campbell Contemporary Art. There are 17 sculptural works by Umlauf, who lived in Austin and taught at the University of Texas at Austin for 40 years, and 22 paintings, watercolors and prints from Brants, who was a member of the Fort Worth Circle of artists. They both were celebrated artists during their lifetimes (Umlauf died in 1994, Brants in 2006) and it is a pleasure to see their works again. The exhibition, “Cynthia Brants & Charles Umlauf, Works From the Artists’ Estates,” will be on view through Feb. 8.
